Senior rugby teams are victorious

Stamford School’s senior rugby teams continued to rumble on last Saturday as all three achieved home wins over Bedford Modern School. The Third XV inspired by Michael McLaughlin and Jack Jones defended brilliantly and held Bedford to “nil points" whilst scoring 38 of their own! The Second XV defeated Carres Grammar School on Wednesday and on Saturday produced another solid performance running in 5 tries and conceding just one against Bedford. Chris Lipscombe and James Dorrington led from the front aided by great control from scrum half Tom Davies. The First XV produced a great second half display to win 34-15. Declan Spaine was outstanding in the pack but praise must go to two try hero Henry Martin on his First XV debut. All the senior sides are at home this Saturday against Uppingham School.
