Captain included in national magazine’s ‘best XV’ feature
The captain of the First XV at Stamford School, Louis Grimoldby, has had his excellent season recognised with selection for Rugby World magazine’s ‘best XV of the Autumn Term.’
Year 13 pupil Louis, who plays at fly-half, captained the First XV to their best ever season, which included an unbeaten home record and a third place finish in the prestigious St Joseph’s School Rugby Festival. Outside school Louis also plays for the Midlands and Northampton Saints Academy.
Louis’ performances have been rewarded with the honour of being named in the best nationwide schoolboy team of the season in the February edition of the premier rugby magazine.
Louis said “It’s great to have been named in the best XV team, and obviously I’m very happy. However, I wouldn’t have had the season I did without the rest of the team, and the hard work of our coaches Mr Laventure and Mr Jackson helping me to improve as a player. The successful school season has given me and several others a platform to move on and play at a higher level.”
