U18 County Hockey Champions

 U18 County Hockey championsSHS U18 hockey team were crowned county champions after defeating Queen Eleanor and Bourne Grammar School at home. SHS won both games back to back with the final scores:

Stamford High School V Bourne Grammar:3-0
Stamford High School V Queen Eleanor: 2-0

The whole team played strongly in both matches with some incredible stick skills from the midfield, strong teamwork from the defence and good movement from the forwards.

After being named county champions, the girls will now progress to the regional rounds which take place on the 6th November at Bedford Hockey Club. The girls will be playing some highly skilful teams and there will be playoffs to finalise their positions at the end.

Maria Higgins, PE Teacher at Stamford High School said, “The girls’ commitment is faultless on and off the pitch.  They thoroughly deserve to go through to the next round and I have no doubt they will continue to work hard to prove themselves at the regional tournament.”
