Old Boy represents his country in Rugby
Stamford School added another international honour to its history as Jeremy Cunnew won his first England Cap in Sunday’s fixture against Wales. England Students beat their Welsh counterparts 27-20 in a thrilling encounter that made up a little for the senior England’s thrashing at the hands of Wales on Saturday.
Jeremy who is currently doing a master’s at Loughborough University was joined on the pitch by fellow Old Stamfordian Mike Allen who was winning his third cap. Jeremy said: "It was a fantastic experience and a great game to be part of."
Both Jeremy and Mike represented the School First XV in 2006, 2007, 2008 and toured South America in 2007. Coach David Laventure was proud of their achievements: "It’s a great honour for anyone to represent their country and Jeremy and Mike have worked incredibly hard on their game since they were 15-16."
