Art and Design
The GCSE Fine Art course encourages students to explore, experience and enjoy the many aspects of art through stimulating and exciting coursework. A wide range of technical and manipulative skills will be developed through observation and analysis of the visual world, experimentation with media, techniques and processes and the production of individual, creative outcomes. Students will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of fine art, both contemporary and from the past which are integral to the making process. A variety of responses will be produced during the two years, including drawing, painting, printmaking, 3Dsculpture/ construction, clay work, mosaics, collage, etc. A GCSE in Fine Art would be useful for progression in any field that requires creativity and practical abilities. This GCSE course is a clear route to the AS/A2 course in Fine Art.
