Stamford Junior School

Charity support SJSWe have been very busy fundraising at the Junior School. Many different charities have received our support. Our aim is to spread our support between local, national and international charities.

Home Start were delighted to receive a large quantity of food and baby products which were donated at our harvest festival and were distributed to families in need within the Stamford area. The Poppy Appeal was once again well supported and we look forward to hearing from them shortly with the total amount raised.

Our Music Department have worked very hard with the children raising £184.50 for CLIC Sergeant through a Practise-athon and also £50 was raised from the Big Sing.

Year 5 held a cake sale which raised £100 towards the Cancer Research Campaign.

Sarah Outen (an ex-pupil of the Endowed Schools) has embarked on a expedition to row solo from Western Australia to Mauritius in a bid to become the first woman, and youngest and fastest person, to make the crossing. She is raising funds for Arthritis Care and the children have held a cake sale on her behalf raising £367. In addition to this the Parents’ Association has made a donation of £500. We shall continue supporting Sarah in the coming months.
