Hockey is the main sport at Stamford High School during the Autumn Term and remains a popular games option amongst the girls. The hockey programme is coached throughout the school, starting with the fundamentals of the game in Year 7. Stamford High School is fortunate to accommodate a superb Astroturf on Kettering Road with easy access to a second Astroturf pitch located on the Stamford School site. With both pitches boasting floodlights this enables us to utilise the pitches in the dark winters and make the most of the time training.
Stamford High School values its elite players and promotes inclusivity amongst the year groups. We are proud to field three senior teams, A and B at U15 and U14 ages whilst the U13 and U12 VII field A-D teams. The girls compete in a very strong fixture list with our Saturday block fixtures including the likes of Oakham, Oundle, Felsted and Bishop Stortford, to name a few. Stamford High School are passionate in their sport and pre-season training camps are organised for the girls prior to the season starting in September. The camps follow an intense programme designed to hit the needs of the players. The pre-season camps are organised by the Head of Hockey and camp mentor Crista Cullen.
The Hockey programme is led by Miss Maria Higgins who can be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org
