Students in Key Stage 4 work towards a qualification in International GCSE Mathematics by continuing and extending the work done in Key Stage 3 in the subject.
All students will study: Data Handling, Number, Algebra, Geometry and Measures. They will learn how to use and apply Mathematics and to interpret, analyse and solve problems. In addition to studying these different aspects of the subject and their applications in society, students will develop skills in proof and deductive reasoning, the confidence and flexibility to solve unfamiliar problems, and the appropriate use of ICT. We hope that students will enjoy the subject and, by seeing the importance of Mathematics as an analytical tool for solving problems, will learn to appreciate its unique power.
